Overview
A statistical paradox where selection bias creates an apparent negative correlation between two independent variables.
Among hospitalized patients, diseases may appear negatively correlated even if they're independent in the general population. This happens because being hospitalized for either condition makes you part of the selected sample, creating spurious correlation.
