Doomsday Argument
Statistical reasoning suggests humanity will end sooner than we think
Overview
A probabilistic argument that we're likely living roughly halfway through humanity's total population.
Assuming you're a random human, and roughly 100 billion humans have existed, probability suggests you're not in the first 1% or last 1% of all humans. Therefore, humanity probably won't vastly expand in population or duration - suggesting we're closer to the end than we think.
