A paradox in theoretical physics about whether information is destroyed by black holes.
Quantum mechanics says information cannot be destroyed. But black holes evaporate (Hawking radiation) and seemingly destroy all information about what fell in. This violates quantum mechanics. Is information preserved or destroyed?
